The Body Shop was the first international cosmetic brand to receive the Humane Cosmetics Standard Award for its Against Animal Testing policy. The Body Shop has its own fair trade programme, which makes it the only cosmetic products manufacturer so deeply committed to fair trade. Currently, the fair trade policy covers 31 communities in 24 countries, providing 15,000 people cross the globe with fair income in exchange for their work.
The Body Shop also runs its own charity, called The Body Shop Foundation.
The Body Shop products are created with passion, always observing the company’s five core values: Protect Our Planet, Support Community Trade, Against Animal Testing, Defend Human Rights and Activate Self-Esteem. These core values underpin all of the company’s undertakings, ranging from limiting CO2 emissions to ordering envelopes. For us, there is no other way to work.
